FAQs on ICBC Covered Physiotherapy

  • ICBC Physiotherapy is a contracted agreement between the insurance company (ICBC) and the patient (you), which allows you to access physiotherapy care immediately following an MVA (motor vehicle accident). At Bri Hicks Physio & Performance, we specialize in treating post-MVA injuries such as whiplash, concussion, sprains and strains.

Provided you notify ICBC of the accident within the 12-week timeframe, you will have access to the necessary physiotherapy treatments you need.

  • Since May 2021, Enhanced Care through ICBC covers everyone for 12 weeks after their crash no matter who was responsible. That means you don’t have to wait to start your pre-approved treatments. All you need is your ICBC claim number, which is created when you submit your claim. You are entitled to 25 FUNDED PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSIONS within the first 12 weeks after your accident.

  • Common injuries following a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) include whiplash, soft tissue injuries, fractures, head injuries, concussion, back injuries, chest injuries and neck injuries. The severity and type of injuries can vary based on factors such as the collision's intensity and the use of safety features. Seeking prompt medical attention is essential for a thorough assessment and appropriate treatment.
